Make this easy, layered, boozy slushie that tastes just like a classic Bomb Pop freezer pop. It is a perfect frozen cocktail for summer parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup cherry-flavored frozen concentrate or syrup
  • 1 cup blue raspberry-flavored frozen concentrate or syrup
  • 1 cup lemon-lime flavored frozen concentrate or syrup
  • 1 cup vodka (or white rum)
  • 1 cup water, divided
  • Ice cubes, as needed
  • Optional: Lemon slices or maraschino cherries for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the flavor bases: If using frozen concentrates, mix each flavor (cherry, blue raspberry, lemon-lime) with 1/3 cup of water separately. If using syrups, mix each syrup flavor with 1/3 cup of water.
  2. Add the alcohol: Pour the vodka or rum into the blue raspberry mixture. Stir well.
  3. Blend the layers: You will blend the layers separately to maintain the distinct colors. Work quickly to keep the mixture icy.
  4. Blend the blue layer: Place the entire blue raspberry mixture (with alcohol) into a high-powered blender with about 1 cup of ice. Blend until smooth and slushy. Pour this mixture into the bottom of four tall glasses. Place glasses in the freezer while preparing the next layer.
  5. Blend the red layer: Rinse the blender. Add the cherry mixture and another cup of ice. Blend until slushy. Carefully spoon or pour this red layer over the blue layer in the glasses. Return to the freezer.
  6. Blend the white/clear layer: Rinse the blender. Add the lemon-lime mixture and the final cup of ice. Blend until slushy. Carefully top the drinks with the lemon-lime layer.
  7. Serve immediately with a straw and garnish if desired.

Notes

  • For the best layered effect, use a blender that can handle small batches or blend in stages. Do not over-blend, or the colors will mix into a single purple hue.
  • If you do not have flavored concentrates or syrups, you can use flavored vodka (like cherry or blue raspberry) mixed with simple syrup and lemon-lime soda concentrate.
  • To make this a non-alcoholic treat, simply omit the vodka and use slightly less water in the concentrate mixes.
