Make this refreshing, icy adult slushie using Rosé wine and a surprising spicy kick. This recipe is perfect for warm weather gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups frozen rosé wine cubes
  • 1 cup dry rosé wine, chilled
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons simple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon finely grated fresh ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder (or to taste for the firecracker kick)
  • Optional: Lime slices and a pinch of Tajín for rimming

Instructions

  1. Prepare the frozen rosé cubes ahead of time by pouring chilled rosé wine into an ice cube tray and freezing until solid, at least 6 hours.
  2. Combine the frozen rosé cubes, chilled rosé wine, lime juice, simple syrup, grated ginger, and chili powder in a high-powered blender.
  3. Blend on high speed, using the tamper if necessary, until the mixture reaches a smooth, thick slushie consistency. Add a splash more chilled rosé if the mixture is too thick to blend.
  4. If using, wet the rims of your serving glasses with a lime wedge and gently press them into a shallow plate of Tajín or extra chili powder.
  5. Pour the Frozen Firecracker Rosé Slushie immediately into the prepared glasses.
  6. Garnish each serving with a lime slice.

Notes

  • Use a dry or off-dry Rosé wine for the best flavor balance against the spice.
  • For a sweeter drink, increase the simple syrup to 3 tablespoons.
  • If you prefer a less intense heat, substitute the chili powder with a few dashes of your favorite hot sauce.
