Make these adorable Grinch Oreo Balls for a festive, bite-sized dessert. This no-bake recipe uses crushed Oreos and cream cheese, coated in bright green candy melts, and topped with a red heart sprinkle for a perfect Christmas party food.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (14.3 oz) Oreo cookies (about 36 cookies)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 12 oz green candy coating wafers (or white chocolate chips with green food coloring)
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional, for smoother melting)
  • Small red heart sprinkles (for the Grinch heart)

Instructions

  1. Place the Oreo cookies into a food processor and pulse until you have fine crumbs. If you do not have a food processor, place them in a sturdy plastic bag and crush them with a rolling pin.
  2. Transfer the Oreo crumbs to a medium bowl. Add the softened cream cheese. Mix with a rubber spatula or clean hands until the mixture is completely combined and forms a thick dough.
  3. Roll the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. You should get about 30 to 35 balls. Place the rolled balls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Chill the Oreo balls in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. This step helps them firm up before dipping.
  5. Prepare the green coating. Place the green candy coating wafers (and coconut oil, if using) in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each interval, until the coating is smooth and fully melted.
  6. Dip each chilled Oreo ball into the melted green coating, allowing excess coating to drip off. You can use a fork or a dipping tool for this.
  7. Immediately place the coated ball back onto the parchment-lined baking sheet. While the coating is still wet, gently press one small red heart sprinkle onto the top of each ball to resemble the Grinch’s heart.
  8. Allow the Grinch Oreo balls to set completely at room temperature, or speed up the process by chilling them for another 15 minutes.

Notes

  • For a deeper green color, add one drop of gel food coloring to your melted coating and mix thoroughly before dipping.
  • If you want to use Red Velvet Oreos, you can substitute them for the standard Oreos for a slightly different flavor profile in the center.
  • Store these no bake holiday truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
