Make this easy, crowd-pleasing patriotic punch for your 4th of July, Memorial Day, or Labor Day gathering. This non-alcoholic recipe features distinct red, white, and blue layers for a festive look.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (2 liter) bottle lemon-lime soda, chilled
  • 1 (64 ounce) bottle white grape juice, chilled
  • 1 (12 ounce) can frozen limeade concentrate, thawed
  • 1 quart raspberry sherbet (for red layer)
  • 1 quart vanilla ice cream or lemon sherbet (for white layer)
  • 1 (12 ounce) package frozen blueberries (for blue layer)
  • Optional: 1 cup white rum or vodka per serving for an alcoholic punch

Instructions

  1. Prepare your punch bowl. You must work quickly to keep the layers separate.
  2. Pour the chilled lemon-lime soda into the punch bowl first.
  3. Gently pour the chilled white grape juice over the back of a spoon onto the soda layer.
  4. Stir the thawed limeade concentrate into the grape juice layer. This forms your base liquid.
  5. Spoon large scoops of raspberry sherbet carefully around the edges of the punch bowl to create the red layer floating on top of the liquid.
  6. Place scoops of vanilla ice cream or lemon sherbet in the center to create the white layer.
  7. Scatter the frozen blueberries over the white layer to form the blue layer.
  8. Serve immediately with a ladle, scooping down to get all three layers in each glass. If adding alcohol, mix the spirit into individual servings or add it directly to the liquid base before adding the sherbet.

Notes

  • For best layering, chill all liquid ingredients thoroughly before starting.
  • If the punch sits for a long time, the layers will begin to blend; stir gently before serving subsequent rounds.
  • Garnish glasses with fresh strawberries and blackberries for extra color.
  • To make this an alcoholic punch for parties, add 1.5 cups of white rum or vodka to the liquid base before adding the frozen elements.
