Make the best homemade smash burger sauce that tastes like your favorite diner. This creamy, tangy, and slightly sweet sauce comes together in five minutes using simple pantry ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Yellow Mustard
  • 2 tablespoons Finely chopped Dill Pickles
  • 1 tablespoon Pickle Juice
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Black Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, yellow mustard, chopped dill pickles, pickle juice, sugar, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder in a small bowl.
  2. Mix all ingredients thoroughly until the sauce is smooth, creamy, and glossy.
  3. Taste the sauce. Add more pickle juice for extra tang or more ketchup for sweetness, adjusting salt and pepper as needed.
  4. Cover the bowl and chill the sauce in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to fully meld.

Notes

  • You can spread this sauce on both bun halves for maximum flavor on your smash burgers.
  • This sauce works well as a dipping sauce for french fries or onion rings.
  • For a copycat version similar to popular chain sauces, ensure you use finely chopped pickles or relish.
